Fancifully Unfinished

I think I like the body angles best in this one. The shading is meh on the suit jacket but I like those ears.

Bruised and Bandaged

Big fan of the jean jacket. Her headband looks more like a bandage but that sort of goes with the cut-off head look. I ran out of drawing space...

Mitochondrial Migration

I don't think all those squiggles were actually on his shirt, but I kept going with the pattern (they remind me of mitochondria but I actually don't know what mitochondria look like). I like the sections in his hair too.

Controlling the Cowlick

That cowlick though.

I like this one, not just because I'm a fan of the subject, but because of the movement of his hair. The shirt creases are pretty okay too, but I think I need to get better at consistent shading.

Can I Have Your Coat?

Definitely wish I had more time on this one to fill out the jacket. I like how the hood came out with all the creases and accents and cushion. Honestly I just want that coat...

Let's Talk About Lines

Can we just take a minute to look at all those lines in his sweater? For whatever reason, I tried to give each one of them a place in this drawing. Yes, I do love tedious work.

String-ingly Intentional

I like how string-y this one came out. Definitely made her shoulders different sizes (unintentional) but I intentionally made bold movements to her hair.

Windy (city) Babies

What a bunch of WINDY BABIES.

Not my most glamorous sketch but I like what it has to offer. I'd like to say I drew it as we were walking, but I definitely sat down later to sketch. I like the tilt of the trees and the crooked skyline.

Star-Spangled and Stylin'

But for real, this one is a gem.

How trendy is that shirt and that hair...with the swirls and the fade?? He was way too fun to draw, I will admit.

The Fall(en) Bob

I like how the shape of her bob showed that her head was tilted down. Also her very fall-festive scarf was nice. Not sure why I had such a fixation on the criss-crossing of the seats but it's probably not a big deal.

The Pauses of Permanence

Well they can't all be winners, can they?

I struggle a lot with pen. I think the lack of forgiveness adds a whole bunch of hesitancy when I'm drawing and weird things like this come out. One point for trying to use different colors to shade.

Rounded Waves and Sectioned Shades

Big fan of this one. I like the shading roundness of the shirt especially and the sectioned waves of shaded hair.

Unintentionally Insectified

I get distracted by the weird shading of her hair when I look at this. I think my intentions were to capture the shiny-ness of her black hair but it turned into some sort of weird looking bug thing. I like the creepy tentacles of hair at the base of her neck though.

Fluid Folds

This one reminds me of drapes and fluid movement. Also like the ear for some reason--I feel like it's super simple but enough.

Telling Tales of Texture

Oh so much texture here. The non-realistic type of texture, of course. His hair looks sort of like worms and his shirt like...well I don't know what his shirt resembles, but I like it!

Softness in the Subtlety

I tried to capture all the twists and turns in her hair and the bun. Buns are difficult for me to get because of the subtle changes in hair shading. Hm. I like how soft that scarf looks though.

Perceiving Perspective

I think I was leaning back in my chair for this one because when I finished and held the finished drawing up to my face, his head was quite elongated. I like the folds in his shirt though.

Planes, Trucks, and a Tator Tot

I almost asked him if I could have his sweatshirt.

I liked his attentive position, and of course his sweatshirt. Kinda wish I added more detail to the chair or at least darkened all of it to add some fullness to the drawing.

Headbanded Hopper

But check out that headband separation, am I right?

There's a lot lacking in this one, but I kind of like how the chair is such a huge blob of nothing compared to the detail of the hair. Jacket turned out fine and his leg looks like a grasshopper's.
