I don't think all those squiggles were actually on his shirt, but I kept going with the pattern (they remind me of mitochondria but I actually don't know what mitochondria look like). I like the sections in his hair too.
I like this one, not just because I'm a fan of the subject, but because of the movement of his hair. The shirt creases are pretty okay too, but I think I need to get better at consistent shading.
Definitely wish I had more time on this one to fill out the jacket. I like how the hood came out with all the creases and accents and cushion. Honestly I just want that coat...
Can we just take a minute to look at all those lines in his sweater? For whatever reason, I tried to give each one of them a place in this drawing. Yes, I do love tedious work.
I like how string-y this one came out. Definitely made her shoulders different sizes (unintentional) but I intentionally made bold movements to her hair.
Not my most glamorous sketch but I like what it has to offer. I'd like to say I drew it as we were walking, but I definitely sat down later to sketch. I like the tilt of the trees and the crooked skyline.
I like how the shape of her bob showed that her head was tilted down. Also her very fall-festive scarf was nice. Not sure why I had such a fixation on the criss-crossing of the seats but it's probably not a big deal.
I struggle a lot with pen. I think the lack of forgiveness adds a whole bunch of hesitancy when I'm drawing and weird things like this come out. One point for trying to use different colors to shade.
I get distracted by the weird shading of her hair when I look at this. I think my intentions were to capture the shiny-ness of her black hair but it turned into some sort of weird looking bug thing. I like the creepy tentacles of hair at the base of her neck though.
Oh so much texture here. The non-realistic type of texture, of course. His hair looks sort of like worms and his shirt like...well I don't know what his shirt resembles, but I like it!
I tried to capture all the twists and turns in her hair and the bun. Buns are difficult for me to get because of the subtle changes in hair shading. Hm. I like how soft that scarf looks though.
I think I was leaning back in my chair for this one because when I finished and held the finished drawing up to my face, his head was quite elongated. I like the folds in his shirt though.
I almost asked him if I could have his sweatshirt.
I liked his attentive position, and of course his sweatshirt. Kinda wish I added more detail to the chair or at least darkened all of it to add some fullness to the drawing.
But check out that headband separation, am I right?
There's a lot lacking in this one, but I kind of like how the chair is such a huge blob of nothing compared to the detail of the hair. Jacket turned out fine and his leg looks like a grasshopper's.
When a person sits in front of me, I draw the back of their head and they never even know it (usually).
You might be on this blog, but do you know what the back of your head looks like?
